District Forest and Natural Resources Officers Urged to Support Forest Initiatives
On Thursday, November 13, 2025, the Rwanda Forestry Authority (RFA) launched a workshop with 30 District Forest and Natural Resources Officers (DFNROs) to strengthen the effective implementation of the ongoing 2025/2026 Tree Planting Campaign.
In his opening remarks, the Director General of the Rwanda Forestry Authority, Dr. Concorde Nsengumuremyi, called on DFNROs to reinforce their commitment to forest management. He stated:
“We call on your dedication to planting more trees, expanding agroforestry, establishing additional tree nurseries, restoring degraded areas, using digital tools for sustainable forest management, and combating illegal forest harvesting.”
The workshop reviewed the outcomes of the 2024/2025 campaign and developed strategies for the successful implementation of the 2025/2026 campaign. It also focused on improving forestry activity reporting at the district level through the establishment of standardized and reliable systems.
